SOCIAL WELFARE ACTIVITIES

SOCIAL WELFARE COMMITTEE
In order to fulfill its aims of contributing to social improvement, WIC has organized a social welfare program. In accordance with the Constitution, ART.XIV.4.and Bylaws, Art. 14.1.b. the Social Welfare Committee (SWC) accepts voluntary contributions for its social welfare activities.

General information
1. Institutions currently supported by WIC are:
a. Orphanages.
b. Institutions and schools for challenged children.
c. Home care centers.
d. Senior citizens homes.
e. Transit homes.
f. Other institutions that may be added.
2. The maximum length of time for WIC support shall be five (5) years. This support can be terminated at the discretion of the SWC.
3. The SWC reports to the EC upon selection or termination of an institution for WIC support.
4. The SWC’s support consists of:
a. Monthly donations in kind (goods).
b. Gatherings for children and senior citizens.
c. Assistance for salaries of professionals and staff (for selected institutions); expenses for volunteers in institutions supported by WIC;
d. Incidental donations upon request. At the discretion of the EC, such donations may be given to institutions not supported by WIC.
5. Requirements for institutions receiving WIC care:
a. The institution shall be located in Jakarta or its immediate surroundings.
b. The institution shall have operated for five (5) years and have an NPWP (tax number).
c. The institution shall be registered with the Kanwil Depsos, BKKKS, Dinas Pendidikan or Dinas Agama.
d. A team of SWC members and the chairperson and / or vice chairperson shall investigate:
i. History and background of the institution.
ii. Cleanliness of environment and living conditions.
iii. Condition of occupants.
iv. Management.
v. Regular source of income.
vi. Other sources of support.
